The figures available so far indicate a clear lead for the Congress led grouping. The Congress and its allies have performed much better than expected and have proven exit polls wrong. But, even with the numbers it has notched up, it will still need to seek support from some other parties. Will the UPA be able to get enough allies to form a stable government? Will the new government now be in a position to push through more critical reforms now that it has a much clearer mandate?
